Baby Step-Giant Step

I  thank you all for talking to me for the past few days. Do you know I never listened to my husband or anyone about my alcoholic son- but I listened to you all!
For twenty years it has been one horrow story after another with him. What would be so easy for you'll was a giant step for me to leave him with no keys.
When he called today he was so mad I think he broke his cell phone. I can't get him on his phone -but even tho he has no close neighbors or friends I think you would say let him be and check if I don't hear in a day or two.
He badly needs anger management classes.\
I will be reading your posts and thanking my HP.  I'm a slow learner I guess- but I look forward to making it up the twelve steps because my baby step was awsome. I also laughed when I read some of the replies.heart.gif

(((((Okwitt))))).....its not easy to start on our own recovery but its ultimately rewarding, on many levels. Your son was angry furious ......something different has happened for him too.

Favourite slogan's that help get me through.......don't react and say what you mean, mean what you say but don't say it mean.

Well done..... biggrin keep coming back!

In support

Ness

Until we stop doing for them what they should be  doing for themselves nothing will ever change , were enablers we help them drink by continuing  to bail them out , believe the lies over and over again , we lie for them ,we make excuses for crappy behavior .. We all started somewhere none of this was easy for any of us married  to an alcoholic , or a child   detachment is damn hard work .. but well worth the effort
