to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
I am really confused with the volume of meetings. Are they different kinds of meetings or simply chaired by different people? Can anybody point me towards one until I have navigated around this site for a while? Thanks in advance for your help.
I have been joining in on the 9 A.M. meeting (8 A.M. in my time zone) because I've found that it helps me to start my day on a good note. I know that there is also a 9 PM meeting but haven't been able to get in on any of those due to my schedule. I assume all the meetings are basically the same format, from what I've seen thus far. I am new here and still learning the 'protocol', but it seems to me that the meetings are being led by whatever 'qualified' volunteer available at the time. And a few times, no one actually came on to lead, so one of the more experienced members took over. If you just go to the top of this page and click on "Al-Anon Meeting/Chat room" It will take you there. From there, the explanations for joining in are pretty easy to follow. I have found that I really am looking forward to my morning meetings and it's a comfort to me to know that I can go to these because I live in a small town and there is only one meeting of al-anon available each week. And right now, at least, I need a daily dose!

most of the meetings are topic meetings , thursday nite is the Step or Tradition meetings.. there is a new commers meeting . the day and time can be found on the home page of this site all meetings are eastern time .
Morning and most eves, topic meetings mean at the beginning the chair asked for topics.Not everyone stays on that topic, there are usually three.
It is very welcoming, you can also go off and pm with someone too. Speaking to just them.They are ran like regular meetings where one person talks at a time,no one chimes in or talks about their thing. When they are done, someone else speaks.
Afterwords there is chat in that room.
We all were new at one time so don't feel uncomfy! We love new ones to come in. They teach us as much as we share with them.
