Pray always...

Happy Mother's Day ladies...participated with my wife yesterday (in support only) as she
did a little shopping in a local candy store.  Remember I said it here "No" is a complete
sentence and I said it twice.  After my morning meeting a little snack at a local McD's
and then home.  Before going into the meeting I met, hugged and spoke with a gal who
I've known briefly in recovery.  She just lost her dad, an alcoholic, addict to the disease.
He died at home on Friday.  On the Tuesday before she lost a best friend to an overdose
on prescription drugs.  "We admitted we were powerless over alcohol and our lives had
become unmanagable."  In the meeting I remembered my amends to my own Mom and
how she helped me thru my inventory process.  We learned to know each other as
children of God though she had some difficulty with the process just a bit.  It got much
better later on.  I believe that the Al-Anon program gave my Mom the son she really
wanted.  If that's so we're both grateful right Mom?

Any how the spouse and I got back home visited with my Daughter in law and two
grand daughters (AWESOME!!) and then I sat and read the newspaper.   "Can moms
help pot legalization?" was one of the lead articles on the front page an article by
Kristen Wyatt from Associated Press.  I'm not going to get into the article because
the title says it well if not very insensitively for this day.   If you want more I guess
you can find your way to the Associated Press e-site and get it there.

Are mothers a driving force in life?  Is addiction a progressive disease?  Is the last
word in step two Sanity?  Did that get a reaction from Jerry F?   If you answered yes
to all of these questions we are all on the same page.   (((hugs))) smile

Jerry,

Glad you had a good day. A few days last week didn't fit that pattern. Today you have a smile on your face and thoughts of breaking your brother in program out of prison have passed for the moment. If only I had bought you earlier last week and sold you today, we could have split the profit and both retired-------Keep smiling.

HUGS,
RLC

((((Jerry))),

Glad you had a good day and you were able to support your friend. Two granddaughters - what joy!  Still sending positive thoughts to your brother.  Tell him that he's got a world wide family praying for him. Much love and blessings to you and your family.

Live strong,
Karilynn & Pipers Kitty smile

Hi Jerry
Thank you for the smile
I loved your title. " Pray Always.  When I first came into program  praying required much concentration and effort on my part!!!  I had so many things that I needed to "think" about.  As I grew and the principles of this  program became part of me praying was automatic.  When I felt upset, grateful, angry etc- I would immediately start talkingto HP or simply reciting the serenity prayer.

As soon as I wake up the third step prayer is in my mind.  Pray always is something I do now and  It is  so much better than obsessing

Thank you
