hi family, dont write on here much, but with you ever day. just got back from the doc,s with ah,hes having trouble eating, coughing up gunk. she explains this is a typical alcoholic,s complaint, burning the esophagus, and having a hitus hernia at the bottom of it. she has a chat to him about AA,he says he went once and its not for him,she then replies how would you know in one session,go back and try it for a month. hes sitting there nodding and agreeing with her,but the minute we get outside he says to me,im not a alcoholic,so i dont need AA. me i just said,oh well carry on and kill yourself, and die of a typical alcoholics illness, its took years of coming here and learning, but ive finally got it. its all done to you wonderful folks lots of love ollie xxxxxxx
That sounds like denial for sure Ollie. I hope he gets "touched" by HP and decides to go tell AA for the next 60 days that he isn't one and doesn't need them. They'll listen.
Stay with your program. Living with an active progressive alcoholic is crazy making.
You know I was in hospital for a long time as a teenager in an adult ward. There were lots of people there with this issue. I had no idea it was associated with alcoholism.
As unfortunate as it is some live thier whole life in denial...I will keep you in my prayers and wish for God to reach down and point him in the right direction.
I feel your pain, I honestly have been there.....you are not alone.
