I heard through the grapevine that you have trained Pipers to put the candles on the cake. I also heard Pipers can actually count----------but only up to "39".

Thank you all for the lovely birthday wishes. I had to work yesterday for 4 hours, but then I went and got my haircut & did a little shopping. Of course, Pipers Kitty got a treat too. I was awoken at midnight by her and she kissed my nose. She didn't ask for treats. Just licked my nose and jumped down. Now the amazing thing about this, is that last year she did the exact same thing exactly at midnight. When my Tim was alive he always use to call me at midnight on my birthday if he was traveling. He's done that for 20 years. When he was home he would wake me up & kiss me, say "Happy Birthday" and go back to sleep. Hmm....coincidence? I cancelled dinner plans w/a friend. I am feeling a bit under the weather. Probably because inventory was Sunday night and I haven't gotten back to my normal schedule. We'll reschedule.
The weather by the way was really strange. There has always been this running joke that it usually snows on my birthday. We're in Upstate NY. Sure enough it snowed, hailed, rained, and was windy & sunny all in the same day. It was wierd to see the blossoms coming off the trees at the same time it was snowing! So you can blame me for the strange weather.
Monday my nieces came over & cooked me dinner. Well they bought the dinner and I let them help me cook it. It was wonderful. We indulged in chocolate covered cheesecake. Yum! They gave me a Peanuts Chess Set. So I ran to the bookstore to get a book on how to play chess. It's been years since I've played & I look forward to teaching them.
I don't count the number of gifts I've been given in the number of material things. I count my gifts by the number of blessings I have received. Thanks to my wonderful family here, my family and close friends, my house is overloaded with gifts. You are the best presents of all. Much love and blessings to you and your families. Love to the critters too.
