Hello Everyone!

As indicated at the top of this message board some changes have been made regarding how the message board will be regulated.  All future decisions regarding the policies and proceedures related to the Message Board will be voted on by any registered member who wishes to participate in the Message Board Decision Meeting.   

Our first Message Board Decision Meeting is scheduled for Sunday, March 28th, 2010 at 9pm eastern time.  We ask that all registered members try to attend this meeting to help us establish a unified set of guidelines and proceedures that works for the benefit of all registered members.

On the agenda is ....

1.  Method of holding our Message Board Decision Meeting, its frequency, date and time.
2.  Method of registered members to submit a motion for board members vote.
3.  Method of notification to registered members, who will have the ability to op out of such notification by choice, without it compromising their message board registration.
4. Board moderator/monitor requirements
5. Policy related to board member banning
6  Policy related to board member post/reply deletion or editing.
7. Policy related to non Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature or any other promotional material posted on board.

This meeting will last approximately 1 1/2 hour and set the ground work for when and how we will carry out these meetings in the future.  If there is adequate time left we will address the other items on the agenda.  If not, they will be tabled for a period of not less than 30 days and no more than 60 days.  We will attempt to address as many of the items as time permits during this meeting.  So it is important that everyone wishing to participate show up on time, and be tentative during the meeting.

You are a registered member on the Miracles In Progress Al-Anon Family Group Message Board.  It is by this registration that your email address is obtained to communicate group and message board related information to you.  We try to avoid sending out more than one email per month to the registered members.  So, you do not need to be concerned with getting a bunch of emails from us.  Should you wish to opt out of receiving these occassional emails, you will have to sign into your account on the message board and remove your registration.  We truly hope you will elect to stay informed of group and message board related issues and refrain from removing your registration.  As you will see in the meeting agenda above, we are in the process of developing a method by which you will be able to opt-out of getting information regarding the Message Board without having to jeapardize your registration on it.  We will notify you as soon as that method is etablished.  If you choose to unregister yourself, simply go to http://alanon.activeboard.com, sign in using the user name and password you registered with, go to your account settings and select "Delete Registration" at the bottom of the settings page.   Again, we hope you will refrain from doing so, and we promise that we will do all we can to refrain from sending out more than one or two emails per month.
