Sheriff is here, what a way to start the day

So I got up this morning, took care of the dogs, grabbed a cup of coffee, made note that 1/2 bottle of vodka missing since late last night and headed back to the guest room I am staying in. AH's dog (who prefers to stay with me when he is drinking) had opened his bedroom door and went in (it was cracked enough for her to get her nose in). I quietly walked in to check on him and make sure he was breathing and get her out. As I am settling in to read the news, he appears at my door demanding to know what I am up in a beligerant manner. Tells me I have no right in his room and generally being a jerk. A drunk jerk. Refuses to stop, refuses to leave. Finally sways back enough to allow me to close and lock the door. Which he precedes to try to kick in.
I called the sheriff who respond pretty quickly. Nothing they can do, he did not touch me. I could have said he threatened me and they will take him away but he didn't and I will not lie.
I am so grateful I got a new job but sure wish I was not working tonight as I would be so out of here. I am now fearful to pack up in front of him. I have never been frightened by him before and I would have never thought he would hurt me. Now I am not so sure. I guess I will just make an escape bag and have it ready just in case.

Yes, an escape bag aka plan B, so u can get out and be safe, if it comes to that.  Do u live in the USA? Can u get some mace just in case?  I know that the police will act as peace officers if u need them to, give them a call and ask what they are willing to do, so u know if u need to implement that.

After I left my exAH, I went back to that state with my mom and police in tow.  AH wouldnt let me in but the cop went in and got a few of my belongings.  ExAH was screaming and freaking out so badly, the cops made him sit on his hands in the parking lot, threatened to arrest him if he didnt shut up & calm down.

Take care of YOU whatver that looks like. Know ur not alone.

Yes, Kitty, I am the states. The sheriff's officers have been more than helpful and I have no problems calling them.

I guess my problem is I am so ill equipt to deal with the drama. My parents were alcoholics but we never had this type of dysfunction (not to say we didn't have it, it was just not so theatrical) and the rest of my live has been pretty drama free. I have made my stand firm and clear and have not wavered on following thru with the resulting actions.

He is very contrite now, after finishing off the remaining 1/4 of bottle of vodka by 9am. He is all woe is me because the sheriff was called on him, not seeing WHY the sheriff was called.

It just gets worse on the weekends, and I wonder where rock bottom is? Or is there one?

Do you mean your rock bottom, or his rock bottom?  Because that would be something to figure out for yourself -- what yours is.  Hugs to you.

Mattie's question is so very important in a personal inventory...Where was my
bottom, the place I call "quits".   Mine was different than my alcoholic wife's
and she did want me to continue participating.   Boy was it crazy!!  When I hit
bottom I surrendered completely...enough! done! toast!! and I stopped and
went out looking for help for myself.   The solutions didn't come overnight and
they had to start some time; some place.  The problem didn't develope over
night and I arrived at the place of no longer participating.  Last time the
Sheriff and 3 others in the posse showed up it was for me...Go figure and
they were justified.  I stopped.  I'm glad I did.  Thank you God!   (((hugs))) smile

Never thought of it as MY rock bottom but I think I hit that last weekend. I guess I just needed to vent as I have made plans for a future far different than this. My new mortgage has been approved and I hope grab my essentials and dogs and be out of here Monday. Plan to lay low for the weekend so as not to give cause for any more drama.
Thanks again guys
