I have sole custody of my three kids, and the day-to-day stuff is all mine: meals, homework, baths, bedtime, laundry, etc.Visits with Dad are always playtime - he has none of the responsibility of parenting, just the fun stuff.(I'm stating a fact here; but I wouldn't change places for him for anything!)
After a soggy weekend (we're in flooded New England), the sun was out and it was over 65 degrees here! Today, my younger two kids got out of school early due to parent teacher conferences. My son found a friend who could come over to play, but my 7-year-old daughter struck out... she was stuck with MommyLI decided to have some fun for a change. She got my almost-undivided attention (still had to keep an eye on the boys) for about 90 minutes. We took the training wheels off her two-wheeler, and she learned to ride it.She was so excited when I videotaped her! Next, we dusted off the Moon Shoes she got for Christmas in 2008, and she hopped all over the driveway. After that, we got out the pogo stick... then on to a game of catch before her big sister got off the bus.
After a quick dinner, we broke out the paints, and all three kids painted a pinewood derby car, even though only my son will be racing his with the Cub Scouts. They had a lot of fun, it was a quick and easy cleanup, and tomorrow we can put them together.
Two of the three are in bed now - one more to go, then I have to work for a few hours - but it was definitely worth it to have a little of the fun stuff!
SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT DAY! I HOPE THERE IS MORE TO COME! I AM HAVING A PRETTY GOOD DAY TODAY. THANKS FOR SHARING THE "GOOD" STUFF LIFE HAS TO BRING. KATHLEEN
