Debilyn, I love you. Thanks for your share. To be honest, I can't think of anything worse than looking after your animals!!!!!! I may, one day, manage maybe one cat. I like cats. But you are a star.
And your wonderful share reminded me of what is important in this life. I know you have your problems Deb. But your share reminded me to be grateful for the simple things in life. In my case it is my garden. It's a suburban garden in west London, UK., but very special to me. I love to watch the birds in my trees and listen to the rustlings in the undergrowth as evening descends. Yes I am very very fortunate that I have a beautiful garden. I have created a place where I can find true serenity.
You are an angel to animals everywhere! I'm an animal lover myself and so enjoyed reading your post.(although it has left me feeling rather exausted) How do you manage caring for all those animals and not wearing yourself out. My hats off to you. Maybe one day I too will have more animals. At the moment all we have is 1 rabbit and we have recently been adopted by a stray cat. She just showed up on my doorstep the other night. Poor thing is nothing but skin and bones. So of course I had to bring her in a feed her a can of tuna. Went and bought her some cat food yesterday though and a litter pan. She doesn't seem to think to much of our bunny though, she just growls and hisses at him. Afraid to let bunny out of his cage right now, would hate to see the fur fly on that one. Hope they will soon learn to be tolerate of each other. We did have a couple starlings too recently. They had fallen out of their nest and almost got munched by a dog we had when my hubby went and saved them. We hand raised them. One died here a few months ago The other one which we had named houdini, learned how to get out of his cage.(they are very smart birds) He got out one day and flew right out the front door. Next I have to tell you...if I said that I loved reading your posts, especially regarding your critters, I would be a liar. I ADORE THEM!!!! I love animals as much as you do and think that you are a wonderful, giving woman. What I wouldn't give to be able to do what you do. I have trained as a rehabber but we've moved and are now living in the city, so I am unable to fulfill my dream of being able to start a sanctuary of my own.....so far - I've not given up hope yet!!
I can read the love you have for all of your critters whenever you write about them and you never fail to bring a HUGE smile to my face. I couldn't stop the smiles if I tried!!
My only regret is that I live so far away from you or you would have a VERY willing assistant to help you with your assorted chores and charges. You are truly an inspiration to so many here and you keep my dreams of my own sanctuary alive in my heart. You truly are an angel to all of your animals and I admire you, what you have lived through and what you do so very, very much....
