HI everyone! I am doing OK today--just want to check in! Life is good; don't take it for granted & keep the faith always or you might end up like I did right after I joined Alanon. Now I can see where I went wrong but it still gets me. Even after 24 years, I am still remember & sometimes relive my past which I don't recommend & is the WRONG thing to do! Work the program & it will work you! KATHLEEN P.S. I WAS MEAN KATHLEEN TO MY HUSBAND YESTERDAY & HE DIDN'T EVEN DESERVE ANY OF IT! BUT, WHEN DOES ANYONE DESERVE TO BE TREATED BADLY?
Thank you for your honest share. You are so right Glance at the past is fine I just cannot afford to live there any more.
Use the tools work the program and sometimes I slip. Thanks to alanon I understand that I am not expected to be perfect and that it is progress not perfection.
Awwww Hooter...you're sooo right. No one deserves it. Isn't it great we can amend that through the steps? I almost choked on the words, "I'm sorry for doing that" the first time I got them out of my mouth. The second time it was easier. Once I got to the 1 or 2 thousand time is was really meaning it when I was saying it.
They carry pain just like we do with one little exception at times if they are not in recovery...they often use alcohol as the anesthesia to dull it.
"I'm sorry for that. It was my fault" or anything similar to that is good practice for members of Al-Anon.
