The A calls and texts me periodically. It is so interesting. Because he will text and I will text back, etc. Then it is like he will stop without answering the last question I asked. Just no response. I let it go. But, it always bothers me- does he think I annoy him with questions, etc? My self-doubt kicks in. Has he met someone, etc? I mean he is in rehab. I know he has a lot going on. We are not dating. It just seems kinda rude not to even answer the question or say gotta go or something....
I've had similar thoughts lately - and the saying that comes to mind is "Don't go to a hardware store if you want bread" (or however that slogan goes). My ABF isn't in any sort of recovery, but lately it seems like the only discussions we have are thru texting. He will repeatedly ask me the same question - even if its been answered, but is selective in his responses to my questions. Rude? Yes. But should we be surprised? Its a selfish disease - they only want "their" message to get thru, whatever their agenda is that day/hour/minute.
Stay strong - you don't have to reply to every text or answer every question - only the contact that you want to have. He is "focusing" on him in recovery and you have the space to focus on you now!
