I had a dream...

...and I shared it with my daughter.

It does not matter what it was about as what does matter is this.  For some reason I really felt it important to share however, I did not know why and what would come out of it.  It was playing on my mind and I could not make sense of it.  Now these things normally do not bother me but this one got me thinking; made me wonder and prompted me to share it with my daughter and ask her what she made of it.

As a student of Human Sciences, I have studied sleep and know the power and need for each of us to dream.  Psychologists will tell you that it is through dreams that your subconscious gets to grips with issues that your conscious self pushes down.

So too experts in sleep and dream patterns will tell you that certain dreams can be analyzed as having basic emotional connotations/meaning, (if those are the right words).

For me , therefore what was THE most important thing to come out of all of this was the conclusion that my daughter actually reached and text to me the next day.

She text, "...either way the focus is you're in need of some tlc.  Physical and emotional. Xx"

There was a time that she would never, ever, have even thought this let alone say it to me albeit in a text.

THIS FOR ME SIGNIFIED we HAD TAKEN STEP 1 and HOPE was renewed in the acknowledgment of a truth.  The sharing had revealed quite a lot and the outcome was that my daughter acknowledged that I needed tlc, which is something that I would never have expected her to acknowledge let alone say.

Just wanted to share this will you.

God Bless
Suzannah

Very cool, Suzannah, and how nice to receive such a response just when you need it the most. There is always hope, and I do hope you get some tlc. Much deserved.

Thinking of you,

Lou

Aloha Suzannah...mavelous that you have the courage to reach out that way to your
daughter and awesome that she will respond so reasonably back.  That is growth
that is what the program is all about.  The experts were right in so much that I have
learned it that way myself and it has worked that way well for me.

Tricia stay with the practice of your recovery.  At first it is hard and scary and then the
fear goes away and you're free.     (((((hugs))))) smile
