Hi Everyone! Im fairly new here and just finding my way around all that is offered here, but I have a question about the step board. I am not only new to this site but also new to Al-Anon, so I was very interested in the step board to help me learn as much as possible about the 12 steps and working them. When I signed on at the step board however it seems the post are all a couple of years old. Am I missing something or is the step board just not used much? Thanks in advance!
hi tracey i havent been here long and also found the 12 step programme had older posts.. i think the general idea is that you work you way through it learning the 12 steps that will set YOU on the road to YOUR recovery. most of us post all the time on the general forum page and gain strength, encouragement and coping mechanisms from each other. it is recommended that we all enter into face to face meetings. i am unable to do this as i live miles away from anywhere but i am non the less getting lots of help and support from being here. start by reading any of the many posts and learn from the situations and actions of others...post away if you have questions or just want to rant! we all do it...we all need to do it! the only thing that we dont do is offer each other advice! we just swap stories and learn from each other. glad you found us. ((((hugs))))))
Hi Suzi and welcome , I do not frequent the step board but old posts or new the steps are the same havent changed in 60 yrs so I am sure that anything posted on the steps would be valid to day . I am assuming u are not attending F2f meetings for yourself , I hope uwill reconsider by just comming to this board you are missing so much of the program . good luck Louise
Your absolutely right, I never thought about that (the fact that this program has always been run the same way) so the age of the help posts doesnt matter. Thanks for the observation!
