Third time's a charm or three strikes and you're out. Either way, I'm pretty sure tomorrow will be the official sentencing and my AH will be going to jail for his DUI (I would honestly be shocked if he got a 4th extension). He made a plea deal of 45 days work release. I've got some anxiety about being alone for that long, but I think it will be good for me in the long run. I have my meetings, my Al-Anon friends, my phone lists, and MIP. Wish me luck!
I hope if he goes, it will knock some sense into him to know this was caused by his disease.
We want them to feel so crummy they want to stop it.
It will all go too fast I tell ya. ex A has been in over 6 months. So fast. I sure don't hear him sounding like he has learned a thing. He is too brain damaged.
Yours will learn no matter what.
Yes I hope your space will help you to heal and get some great realizations.
hugs,debilyn

Good luck to you! I think you will find some more serenity without the interruption of the alcoholism in your life for a short period of time. Stay focused on yourself and your program and I am sure you will do just fine.
Thanks everyone! They took him in right away, but I think I will have to go pick him up in a few days so he can come home and get work clothes (he will be doing a work-release program).
I hope everything goes smoothly during his absence and I find some strength and serenity during this alone time.
I never ever thought I'd be able to live without a man in my life. When I finally hit my codependent bottom in 1999 after the ex-fiance walked out on me, I was willing to learn and keep an open mind.
Today there isn't much I can't do by myself. I take a great deal of pride in making minor repairs around the house, mowing the lawn, making sure I get my car in for regular oil changes. Those are just a few of the countless things I do.
Today, I wouldn't trade my life for anything in the world!
