No work today. This is a party day here at the house. Yesterday I got a miracle. I do not hear well. Actually I had a hearing test on Monday and the result was a pretty profound hearing loss. Well I went to the doctor yesterday and he put tubes in both of my ears. When we were walking out to the car, my daughter was walking with me and she said MOM YOU CAN HEAR ME!! I stopped and listened and I could hear the cars on the street. We went into party mode. Smiles all the way around.
This hearing thing has caused alot of problems, the only way I could hear the TV was to turn it up. Couldn't convince those guys to watch from the mail box across the street so I could hear. My kids have been my hearing aides. helping me by telling me what people were saying. I forever was saying what did they say???
When I got home, son was here and daughter told him, he came to talk to me and said oh MY GOD, MOM CAN HEAR!. We made up some smoothes and had a toast! Hopefully this will clear up the other problems I am having, but I never expected this.
Doctor told me before the procedure that he would love to be my hero but we need to remember, this is a trial and it may not work to clear the infection in my Mastoid but it was worth a try. I told doc I wanted him to be my hero and if this worked would make a sanwich board and walk in front of clinic.....when I left he said ok will see you in two weeks and hope you have sandwich board Now I have a project make a sandwich board...this gift of hearing I never expected...I will joyfully wear the sandwich board and take the next steps to clear up the infection if necessary.
Ok I need to go shout this information from a couple more roof tops. and dance on a couple more ceilings. So grateful may need to do a bit of joyful crying for a change.
Discover sounds, so strange to hear the keyboard...it is noisey. Last thought when I put my head on my pillow last night was wow the pillowcase crinkles I can hear it, unbelievable.
OH yeah one more thing...daughter got a job yesterday too....Last night there were so many smiles is this house and Jerry my friend it felt great to have the love flowing...What a wonderful feeling...
Aloha Fishin...Thank you soooo much for this miracle and am over joyed (the subject of this AMs meeting was the Joy of recovery) for you and for your family...I can soooo relate to this share as I am double bionic (both ears) and have lots of empathy for the wife and family and members of the program. Deaf is deafinitely deafeting at times with the exception of the miracles that interfere and give hope. I have learned to listen with my eyes more than my ears and that is one reason MIP is the best meeting in town(s) at times. I am so grateful for your share and soooo happy for you and my imagination says the letters on the sandwich board will be dayglo and beautiful. I've never "tubed" my problem I've been told is neurological. You might ask your doc if there tis another source of info I can dive into.
Great news, tyf sharing it with us. Yes, now u can relearn how noisy everything is! I'm happy for you, as I take hearing for granted. Every small Blessing we have is defeintely worth celebrating ~ one more thing to be grateful for!
