Hi all, 2009 was one of the hardest years I have ever gone through. Not because so much bad happened to me, just so much happened.
One of the best things that happened this year is that I was able to meet three people in person that I met on MIP. It was an amazing experience!
One of the worst things that happened this year is that my husband and I split after 12 years. I love him dearly, but had to let him go. I know it is something I needed for me and there are a lot of positives, but that doesn't make it hurt any less.
I have learned so much about me this year and I am planning on continuing with that journey in the coming year.
I have made resolutions in the past and never kept them. This year I am changing things. I am making promises to myself. My kids know that I don't throw that word promise aroung lightly. I don't make many promises because I need to be able to keep them.
So this year I promise to do what I need to do to make myself healthy in mind, body and spirit. That is pretty general, but keeping things general on the board works for me. I also promise to write down my promises and email them to my sponsor. I know that if I write them down then they become more real and sharing them with someone I trust is a very good thing for me.
Hope you all have a safe and Happy New Year.
Yours in recovery, Mandy

How AWESOME is that? Thank you ((Mandy)) for such a great example of keeping it simple and doing the next right thing!
awesome Mandy and I'm right there with you. The promises we keep to ourselves are the most important. My mom's resolution last year was to take her own good advice and not to give other people advice. This year, she is repeating that one.
Definetly writing things down help to manifest them and so does being accountalbe to someone else. Whatver works for you ~ fabulous resolve ~ you're worth it! Happy New Year!
