hello everyone! I am new to this board so please bear with me. I would like all of your help in remembering our troops that are overseas fighting the war on terror. Please keep them in your prayers. My brother is in the army, He is a Lt Col and has 700 soldiers under his command. They are currently stationed near Bagdhad. This week he has lost two soldiers to enemy action. They are part of a joint US Army and US Marine operation to rid Iraq of some insurgent strongholds. They expect more intense fighting in the days to come.
It is easy to forget in our day to day world here in the US that we have a war still being waged in parts of this world. We have many soldiers and marines putting their lives on the line everyday. Some are making the ultimate sacrifice. Many are very young men and women with lives not yet even started. We are so far removed from the things that are happening in Iraq and Afghanistan that it is hard to relate. The news coverage has dwindled down to a few secs here and there. I just would like all of your help to remember these soldiers and marines. Also, that some of them will not be coming home. Any prayers and thoughts would be aprreciated to help keep my brother and his soldiers safe in the upcoming action, and for all the men and women serving their country overseas.
Thank you very much and God Bless all of you and your families.
Thank you MrBlue!! My brother is also "over there". He is a marine stationed in the Al Anbar province. He turned 20 over there in April, last year he turned 19 in Haiti, he's expecting to come home sometime in July, and be back again next year to turn 21 over there, seems like all of his birthday are being spent in a dangerous part of the world. I pray for him everyday and can't wait until he comes home - that date keeps changing, as everything does in the USMC. I will keep your brother in my prayers - please remember my brother as well!!
Often times I say a silent prayer for the women and men who are serving our nation and the risks the run at the hand of a war. I have several friends children under 25 over there also. We often hurry here and there all day long but I know many wives miss there husbands and children there mommies many wives miss their husbands also as their children miss there daddy's and many Parents pray that the children they love will arrive home safely. ((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((( Soldiers)))))))))))))))))))))))))))) Male or female may you remain safe and know your nation supports you and commends you for your service. May you reach home safely. To our loved ones lost may you rest in our Lords valley and know your service was valued as your life on earth was, rest eternally and thankyou. May this end soon God Bless us all and all in our military. Love cloud
Hi, I'd like to say that I too, would like to see all soldiers, everywhere, come home safely. I will point out, though, that not all of us on this board are American, and some of us may in fact have loved ones fighting on the other side of this war. Alcohoism affects people in all countries, of all faiths, and of all political persuasions. We are here to help families of alcoholics, whatever their stance in regards to this war.
Your right, we are all from differnet places and we have a common concern about an alcoholic loved one. But where ever we are all from, we are all human. No matter what side of anything people are on, someone loves them and misses them and worries about them.
I think we can all agree we would all love peace and happiness for everyone.
hi mariposa thanks for the reply. I will keep your brother in my prayers also. I know you must be very proud of him. I am glad that we have men like him serving their country. Sorry that they have to be so far away from home and in a dangerous place. I will keep him in my prayers.
lin I am sorry if i offended you or anyone else with my post. i understand that this is just not an american board. I only wanted to post about the soldiers because my brother has been on my mind alot lately, and i thought a few extra prayers for him and all the soldiers and marines would be a good thing. Again, i did not mean to offend anyone and hopefully all soldiers from all countries can return home safe as soon as possible.
