I am asking for prayers for the family of Richard Antoun. He was an anthropology professor that was stabbed to death yesterday in his office. He was 77 years young. He had more energy at that age than 100 of me combined. A sweet, gentle kind man who life touched many. I found out at work. His office use to be across from mine. Hubby and I had many happy times sitting in his office, listening to his stories and learning so much from him. He was a husband, a father, a grandfather as well as a world class scholar. I saw him just 6 months ago and he was asking how I was coping with the loss of my beloved Tim. I am heartbroken at the loss. I am heartbroken for his family. How one copes with such a tragic loss, especially around Christmas time is beyond me. Please keep his family as well as his academic family in your prayers. I haven't had the courage to go back to the building I called home for so long. I wasn't ready to face the memories of Tim & I. Now with this, it just breaks my heart. A senseless act of violence from one of his students, over a situation in which he had no control over. I just don't understand it.
Rest in peace Richard Antoun. You were an extraordinary man. You will be missed.
Karilynn

This is indeed sad news. Senseless seems to be almost an everyday word . You have my condolences, Karilyn, and prayers for the professor. May justice be done. pw
