well I got to the box at the bottom of the closet only to find that they were not my alanon books but aa books of my sons. I decided to go ahead and read step one from the aa 12 X 12. Not much difference from alanon. Then I got out a piece of paper and wrote down the actions I had taken in the last few months to control people places and things and looked at how they worked for me..I see that hp sent back a message that read loud and clear...No Way on that one...quite an eyeopener.
I also read the section in the big book to the wives. I don't know about that but maybe I need to read it again. I am going to try to keep an open mind. as a repeat alanoner I know I just need to listen.
Still on the lookout for my alanon books, but will keep plugging away with what I have, if not found by my next meeting I will buy some nice new ones for the nice new start I am going to make on my alanon journey.

Probably why it's called the Al-Anon Family Groups...LOL Actually it is the similarities between the members that I was told to focus on because as long as I was looking for differences I wouldn't "get it". How true.
First promise from within Al-Anon which came true for me? "If you keep and open mind you will find help." I see you mentioned it here also. Hmmm maybe a dna check would be more surprising. Hah!! (((((hugs)))))
