What are we thankful for?

As Thanksgiving approaches, my thankfulness is renewed, and I review the long list of reasons why I give thanks.  At the top of that list are:

My daughter who is beautiful in every sense of the word.
My son-in-law who loves her unconditionally.
My two sons who are loving, respectful, successful, and bright.
My daughters-in-law who love them unconditionally.
My two granddaughters of whom I could not be more proud.

I am thankful that can allow myself to be me.
I am thankful that my health is good, and that I am able to
run marathons.
I am thankful that my parents insisted, so that today I am an
accomplished pianist.  LOL!!!
I am thankful for my friends whose love I could not do without.

I am thankful for schmaltzy things too, of course.

I never forget, at the end of each day, to be thankful for these things that really matter.

I am thankful for:

My HP

That I have enough; food, clothing , shelter and friendship.

My good health

That I am nicotine free for 6 months

That my parents had the courage to immigrate here so that I could be a citizen of this great country

MIP and all you who post

ALANON meetings and members

My career, my marriage and my beautiful son who enriched my life for 41 years.

Most of all that I can truly feel grateful this Holiday season

I hope everyone has a Blessed Thanksgiving Day

I'm thankful for making it this far  :)
For my sober husband and for the 22 yrs (today) that we have had eachother.
My awesome kids that have stood by us both through it all.
My lovely home.
My parents and extended family
My dear friends
My crazy dogs

Mostly, I'm thankful for my serenity and the ability to find calm resolve (99.9% of the time).

Thank you (((Diva)))

I am thankful for my ex wife's being an Alcoholic and finding AA, because it lead me to Al-Anon.

I am thankful for God's grace that let me step outside my own "big brain" and realize that Al-Anon was something that was going to change my whole life.

I am grateful to all those who came before me that carried the torch high to shine it's light on me and us all.

I am thankful for my family of birth.

I am thankful for the wonderful friends I have.

I am thankful for all of you who been or will be a part of my recovery.

I am thankful for my gf, my job, my kitties and the wonderful home I have to live in.

Most of all I am thankful for my loving Higher Power, who continues to be patient with me.  Who provides for all my needs and for many of my wants too.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone!

David

I am thankful for all those I have loved and lost. No matter the circumstance, be it family friend or romantic, they all taught me something. Whether that loss be from death or diverging life walks, I like to think I learn and grow from all who crossed my path.

I am thankful for the program and learning how to be thankful or grateful for the
good stuff that comes easy and the better stuff that comes from when times are
rough and I get to muck my way thru it with loving program family and friends and
a Higher Power who hasn't quit on me yet.  I am grateful at being able to witness
and participate in soooo many journeys with soooo many miracles.  Go figure that
I never ever thought it would come out so well and in such an unexpected way.
HP is cunning, powerful and baffling. HUH?    (((((hugs))))) smile

What an impressive catalogue of thankfulness.  I am so impressed that you can be so positive after such a very stressful time for you.  I hope thanksgiving was uneventful ( I think that is the best outcome if there are alcoholics around).  I admire your strength and tenacity.

Maresie.
