I am so glad, and proud of myself for just doing it, as I have been agonizing over it for a while. It is someone who has inspired me and encouraged me since my very first meetings. I find that she is the one I always look for at a meeting and she is so sincere and genuinely interested in me and my progress. Whenever I ask her questions about some issue I am facing, she always seems to have exactly the answer I need to hear. It also turns out that she lives about 2 minutes away from me, so it will be easy to meet up.
I am so grateful, and eager to start working with her.
It appears you made a wise choice. Working with a sponser/sponsee is so very imporant to my recovery. I learned how to share, trust, talk things over . listen, have compassion and most important I learned to respect that everyone has a path and we walk together sharing with love and resp[ect and it works.
Congrats!! Asking didn't hurt a bit did it?? LOL I hope you connect and heal with your Sponsor. My first Sonsor didn't work out but my second one is the most awesome We also connect and believe the same spiritually which isn't necessary but it is an added plus.

I am glad that you asked someone to sponsor you. I have been wanting to ask someone to be mine. I haven't asked because I am afraid that she will say no. I have no back up plan if she says no. Maybe I will I have the courage to call her tonight and ask her. Thanks for posting..it makes me feel better to know that I am not the only person who is reluctant to ask for a sponsor. :)
I have the most amazing sponsor who lives and breathes the programme, she helps me so much and I can talk to her about anything and am so glad you have done this for you, WELL DONE!!!

supermom - did you call and ask last night??? Even if she has too much going on and can't take on another sponsee right now, at least you will know and can move on and start looking for someone else. And if she says yes, well then you will have a sponsor!! There is nothing to lose by asking :) (ha, I talk like I am an expert now)
Yes! I called and asked her to be my sponsor. Guess what? She said, "Yes!" We are both excited about it. Thanks for inspiring me! I am excited that I am finally doing something for myself. It is such a foreign concept to me. Good luck on your journey.
