The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
the hard part in alanon is learning to be responsible for our own recovery. no one can do it for us. asking requires humbling and overcoming fears. go to online meetings and listen. ask someone whose answers or style of communicating appeal to you. all they can say is no.....and they usually say yes.
if you still can't find anyone, and really need to talk, i am available by email anytime and am willing to be a temp sponsor if you would like.
I too struggled with finding sponsors, I mainly went to online meetings and wasn't sure what to do. A really good tool is post here, we may not be your sponsor but all of these people giving you their experience, can sometimes be an even better tool than just one sponsor. A sponsor is very important, especially when it comes to working the steps, but as far as getting answers we need or support, post here and go to the online chat room, it can help and honestly it can bring fast relief if you are willing to start to work the program. Remember take what you like and leave the rest, not everyones solutions to their problems will help with yours but you may get some great ideas or some great support for solutions and decision you are making.
