To each and everyone of you that contributes to this forum, I am truly greatful, I belive in a higher power but as yet do not pray regularly, I have done though when my life has brought me to my knees, and always something somewhere has thrown me a life line, I am humbled by each and every one of you that comes to this place, and I kinda of feel I don't have the experience or wisdom at times to contribute to everones post, but I do care and my thoughts and best wishes are always with you all, for all of us struggling with this terrible deseace, I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Thanks it is a wonderful place with amazing people. It has helped me so much in my times of need the bond between us all grows and grow it just get better when new people keep joining this worldwide family. I too use to only talk to HP when things were bad but to day I speak to him every morning for guidance for the day. I always show my gratitude to him for my blessings at the end of the day. Through out the day I chat to him for guidance too, he know what is best for me so I try and communicate as often as possible. This is what al anon has done for me it has connected me with my spirit and my higher power. I am on my knees today but in my heart I know I will be o.k because my H.p is holding my hand and guiding me to a better way of life.
Hi Katy , I certainly understand your struggle with a higher power as I had the same . what helped me alot was somone suggested that I commit myself to the God of my understanding on a daily basis . What I do is when first getting up is say out loud good morning God what are WE doing today ? thats it Part of the concious contact for me is to talk to this HP through out the day . Eventually it all clicks in to place . A friend has told me for yrs that God is a part of everything or Nothing . good or bad .
I have to agree with you...with all the same terrible things we all seem to struggle with, this site brings us all together to lean on each other and help each other out and give each other the strength to go on and keep living. We all deserve the best and we should never sell ourselves short. We have let the A's in our lives guide us and direct us and create such chaos in our lives that we finally had to seek help from others who understand. Even though I sometimes go long periods of time without coming to this website, it's so nice to always be able to pick right back up where I left off....
