I've just watched a programme on BBC tv called 'Brought up by booze' it's a brilliant programme that's been made as part of the huge BBC Children in Need fundraiser that they have every November here in the UK. I've watched this event for years and never have I seen Aism addressed.
This programme I've just watched was good, but I was so saddened to see there was no link at the end to Alanon or AA helplines....WHY???
I've just sent this same question to the BBC..... if you get a chance to download the programme from the BBC website and feel as I do......maybe loads of WHYS will make a change.
I was unable to connect witht he show. You idea was excellent. It is amazing how a show about children being raised around alcohol does not mention a wonderful recovery tool such as alanon.
Good Luck in your attempts to have this addressed.
I couldn't hook up with it either but you can add me to your Why? list also. It is important as you said and I also have experience as an Alateen sponsor and adolescent counselor. Go 4 it!! (((((hugs)))))
