I Drew A Line Today............

I have a AS (he is an adult) I had been letting him use my car to run errands because he lost his when he borrowed money from a title loan place and he didn't pay his payment.

He began to abuse this privilege of using the car, staying out longer and longer, would not respect my request to have the car back at a certain time.

Today I told him if he could not go along with my wishes I would take the car back.
He went ballistic on me, cursing, calling me terrible names.

I took the car back and will not take his phone calls, he tried all day to call me as I am sure he had plans for Halloween.  I know he needs the car, even though he will not work.

Just hope I can learn to let him go and let God.  I can't stand the thought of him being without food.

I need to stay strong.

DO,

Keep drawing it. I know it is hard. My son is doing the same thing. He has two kids, going to school, etc. He just doesn't get it and I don't let him get it when I bail him out. He can walk to school, I do. People in Africa are starving. Not my son - he is picky and lazy. But I help him by enabling him. When we say no we are really saying we know they can do it on their own.

In support,
Nancy

i too have an alcoholic son. it is surprising how well they can really get along without us. your son will find a way to do what he needs to do. i know it isn't easy but please stick to your guns. he may be pissed for a bit but eventually he will feel good that he was able to figure out how to solve his problems.

Well done Dreams......it works if we work it.

They know where to find food if they want it........and as my A son frequently tells me, there's lots of vitamins in the cider he drinks..... it's from apples after all!

None so blind as those that can't see !!

In support......Ness x

well rest assured that your son isnt going to starve. there are many ways that are even legal that he can eat.

but try not to beat yourself up for drawing the line. its your right as a human being to say no. and you did that, under very reasonable circumstances, and as an adult he will have to deal with it. =)

It's amazing how many nice people you can meet on a bus.
