drinking in secret

She thinks I don't notice. I can tell as soon as i walked in.

It's in her eyes. Her speech is different.

Oh, and did I mention that she is now 8 months pregnant. Baby due in 5 weeks.

And to think there was a time, not so long ago, that I questioned wether she had a drinking problem or not...

Today has been a bad day....

ajay,

My heart goes out to you.  It is one thing to be powerless over the alcoholic, but how painful it must be to be powerless over the protection of your unborn child.  IMO, this is very close to child abuse.  Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any laws that make it so.  She is knowingly giving the baby alcohol.  This disease is so ugly.

The question comes to mind of her ability to be home alone with this newborn and the pressures of caring for it.

Aloha Ajay..."The courage to change the things that I can"  for me that would fall into
the category of talking to the family doctor and/or the gynecologist.  They will need
to know it when the baby is delivered so that vitamin therapy may be called for
to offset possible fetal alcohol effect or syndrome.   You're not alone here and
I hope you're making use of the face to face meetings and literature. ((((hugs)))) smile
