Hi Family, I had something funny happen that I just wanted to share with you and I hope it gives you all a chuckle like it did the f2f group I shared with last night.
Last night I went to a f2f meeting. It was pretty small and with 30 minutes left to the end of the meeting we had all shared. Well the chair asked us to go around in a circle and give a gratitude and to do it by a certain letter. He was A, the next person B, and the next person C, and so on.
Well I was looking in the index for some help with my letters. When I looked at the T's I got a giggle and knew exactly what I wanted to share I was grateful for.
Well I said I was grateful for the 3 C's. And this is the story that I shared with them.
I told my f2f that I belong to an online forum and that we have had quite a few newcomers to the board. I responded to a post and I shared the 3 C's and thought nothing of it.
I was away from my computer until yesterday and when I logged into the board here I had a pm from one of our trusted servants, a board moderator. The pm let me know that a post that I submitted was edited becuase in the three C's I said that you can cure it, instead of can't.
I was extremely grateful that this moderator caught it and was able to change it. I, however, being me :) responded to the pm from the moderator with someting along the lines of -What I have been here all this time and now you finally tell me that I cannot cure it. :) and of course my thank you was included in my reply.
And this moderator responded in kind with humor and I had another giggle.
Well my f2f group really enjoyed the story and of course my ability to laugh at myself.
I am forever grateful for all the gifts this program can give me.
Yours in recovery, Mandy

OK, got a big "thank you Al-Anon" smile on my face. I've made a few blunders at f2f meetings that have left some lingering giggles to this day. Isn't it fantastic that we can revisit the one place where we took our worst fears, and have a good laugh.

Aloha Mandy...It is true that when I learn how to laugh and laugh at myself also I got the freedom from fear taken away. I loved the humor. (((((hugs)))))
