My f2f last night......

was on step 4. I have really never done a step 4 yet. Last night someone spoke on envy. I guess I really never thought of that as being a character flaw but my eyes were open to it then. I, too, am envious of families that seem to have it all together...talking about their grown kids's jobs, where they are going to college...just what kind of adult they turned out to be.  I guess I relate it best to when I was younger growing up with an A father and seeing all my friends living what seemed to be normal lives no  As I have grown older I really do feel that my kids are very good kids with a very bad disease and that all families will have some sort of suffering in their lives. I don't mean to say that misery likes company or anything it is just that we do not know what crosses any family will have to bear.

I was grateful for the topic .

Gail,
I was just thinking that someone with other things going on in their life could be envious of you. You have a place to go where you get ESH, unconditional love, and understanding. Not many people facing difficult times have that.

Thank you for being here and shaoring your story with us. I am living with addiciton in my spouse, but I am gaining tools for my tool box in case my kids follow in their dad's footsteps. I appreciate your courage to share your story.

Yours in recovery,
Mandy

Hi Gail

I am so glad you attended a meeting last night.  4th Step meetings are always  extremely  helpful  tools  for my recovery.

The honesty and acceptance  that I feel in the rooms is very powerful

Praying for your peace
