I am new to this and this is only my 2nd post, but i have that knot in my stomach again.  AH in recovery for almost 1 1/2 years but sometimes i feel i am dealing with the same alcoholic behavior.  In the the process of buying a 2 family home installing carpet and tile next week and now we find out we have to buy a new stove. money is tight this week and its going to be rough.  But AH says he is still going out to watch the football game with his friends, he says its not like i drink anymore, but he still spends $100 at a bar/restaurant.  But the blame goes back to me because we have borrowed off his pension and he says I haven't contributed at all.  He is in counseling but hasn't been to a meeting in a very long time.  I just started reading getting them sober and he found it and questioned what was in the book that the book is saying because he is asking me to change and expecting things from me that he is  a dry drunk.  I don't know what to think anymore and really don't want to get into a fight when he returns home from work tonight?  any suggestions or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

TF... keep reading that book. I learned a lot from it and it helped me make sense out of an irrational situation. Whenever I blow up -- it is just like the quote at the top of the page.... all I do is teach him how to better blame me. Take care of yourself. ((( ))))

Aloha TF...I'd suggest that you start building a friend group of your own made up
of members of the Family Groups.   They all know about the disease and have tools
and skills to keep from being run over by it and feeling happy about life on life's
terms.   That's what worked for me.

Dear TF

Ditto on this post!  You did not cause his drinking - You cannot control his drinking - You cannot cure his drinking!

He is going to do what he is going to do!  I would find my own network of support and let him work out his own life!  Good luck on your new house!
