I thought I would come on and share with you guys my experience story of walking through the fear with my higher power.  I was on this very board where I asked for advice on asking for sponsorship.  I'd like to thank you all for your encouragement now.  I went to my usual home meeting that week and bravely asked my al-anon friend if she would be willing to consider guiding me through the steps.  It was a lovely experience and I felt no fear at all even though I was very scared beforehand. She was overwhelmed and said she would go away and pray whilst I was away on holiday.

I made things as simple as I could for me and my friend as I do realise it is a big decision.  She couldn't believe I wanted her to be my sponsor and asked again are you sure which I replied "I would love you to".  This person I think works her program so well and has such a calm auora which I find inspiring.

I will keep you guys updated and wow what a program this is al-anon when you work it.  I find results only come from action and I am now currently looking through my blueprint for progress book ready to give myself a better life.

I am happy for you and glad u walked through the fear & experienced courage when u asked her.  Her response was lovely and it sounds like she was truly touched ~ wonderful for you and her.  Good luck with it.  Know if she can't it is no reflection on you but I am glad u found such a calm lovely friend to be there for you either way.  Getting to that calmness was what I wanted too. 

I hope u have a joyful, relaxing and renewing holiday, u deserve it!  Enjoy yourself.
