I have been in Alanon off and on for years. I have recently become addicted to someone one that is a manipulative alcoholic. Yes, I should have seen it coming, but I let it happen. I am detaching, but the pain is almost unbearable at times. Just glad I found this board. I'm taking everything one hour at a time.
Keep reaching out for help - if you have been in Al-Anon before - I hope that you know you will find unconditional love, acceptance and friendship here and hopefully at a f2f meeting.
For me, there is healing and hope in the literature, step work, working with my sponsor, meetings and most of all my relationship with my HP!

Al-Anon on and off for yrs ? Maybe this time u will stay ,this program dosen't seem to work too well part time . If I am not contiually re enforcing what I learn seems we go back to old behaviors especially in relationships .Al-Anon principles are a awsome way to live life to the fullest and this program has improved all of the relationships in my life not just with the alcoholic. I hope u go back to the meetings for your sake .
