new here

OK, this is new to me. I really don't know if my husband is an alcoholic. I know he drinks everyday and is so obnoxious i can't stand him when he is drinking. His drinking doesn't affect his work, he doesn't drink in the morning or anything like that. It is the same routine everyday. After work he stops for a few drinks, comes home, eats supper and falls asleep in the recliner. I actually like it when he falls asleep because his nonstop chit chat stops! I have lived with this for so long it is just the norm to me and my daughter. So, what do ya think. I do love him (in the morning) when he is " Normal" by the time he comes home i can't stand to be around him. What is my next step? I have asked him before to cut the drinking and he does for a while but them goes back to his routine.

I think you should find yourself some support , locate a few meetings in your area and start taking care of you , it dosent matter if he is an A or not what matters is how it affects you when he does . Al-Anon is for you about you , u need support from people who understand .  There is nothing u can do about him but u can help yourself -

I am in agreement that the BEST Thing you can do is Find a Face to Face meeting in your area, Go to On-line meetings here, and Post your heart out, you are going to find many people that live the same life you discribe..

And again... A or No A, it is about YOU, and what You need, and how it effects YOU & Your Child... That is what is most important...

Al-Anon is a Blessing to Many and it can be that for you as well... If YOU Deside You are ready for the best change of your life ;) It Works for me ;)

I always find that when someone is asking if their significant other is an alcoholic, they really already do know the answer.

I agree with what everyone has posted.  You should seek out a meeting for your own serenity and peace.  His drinking is his problem.  It has nothing to do with you and starting at meetings will help you find yourself again.
