4 years ago i went and got myself treatment because i felt like i was getting out of control on how much pain medication i was taking. I was going thru a divorce and just kept taking more and more to numb myself. Well i did well for a long time then i injured my back real bad (actually broke it) and my Dr prescribes me 80mg oxycodone 3 times a day now. I have my new wife lock it up and give it to me as prescribed. But my question is that my ex wifr found out i am taking the medicine again and is taking me to court to try and take my kids from me until i do a 16 week drug program. She is just assuming that i am abusing them again. But i am not, i learned my lesson the last time and my wife does a good job at giving them to me like it says. Can i actually get in trouble for taking these again? My opinion is that there is going to be times in our lifes that we have to take pain meds again. My Dr says that this is the only pain med he will give me because of my injury and that the meds are time released. If i don't take my medicine i can not do normal everyday things. Please any advice will be great. I do not want to lose my kids over this. Can they actually punish us for things we did in the past. Thanks for any answers.
I would think since you can prove you were injured, can prove that you've been given no more then what is required...there really shouldn't be a problem.

Aloha Nabb - I wish I had answers for you, but all you'd get from my is assumptions. I'm not a legal expert, and I think you'd probably get better closure speaking with someone whom you are sure knows the law. I hope you find some answers, and I wish you well in your recovery.
The best person to answer this question for you is a lawyer. I have no legal experience. If it were me, I would seek out a professional. I am sorry about your back pain. One of managers just had back surgery. Last year when he had his brain tumor removed he said that it wasn't his head that ached the most. It was his back. I hope your doctor can find a solution so that you can get healthy again. Love and blessings to you and your family.
