i feel that being in this program (even for such a short time) has given me the tools i need to start making changes. over the past 5 years, i have never felt the desire to quit, or even set goals for myself. since al anon is helping me focus on me, i am starting to do these things... so yay!
I have been there and it is not an easy step, but it is one that is well worth the climb... Good for you for using your strength, and pushing forward... YOU GO
Goody for you! That is great! And amazing. Have you gotten to the stage yet that you can smell it on your clothes?
I quit once for 9 months, took it up again and it took me 10 more years to quit for good. The last two years I was using step down filters and then the Final Filter. I would wake up nights afraid I had lost my filter. Finally got the flu and got too sick to smoke and that finally did it. Then for about 15 years I would dream that I had had one cigarette and was hooked again.
It is God's grace on my life that I really don't like the way I feel after drinking, and am not that fond of the taste, either. If I had been the alcoholic in the family, I would probably have been dead decades ago.

That is abosolutely wonderful. It's two years I've quit smoking. I feel so much better. (and smell better too!) Good Luck! They say it takes 7 days to make a habit and 7 days to break a habit. 9 days is outstanding!
