Courage needed today

Our local constabulary (police) kindly brought our A son home drunk and incapable....so much for sleeping it off!! (see my last post)

Had I been in the vicinity...it was husb that took delivery of him....I would not have allowed him in the house but would have let the police put him in the cells for the night....need to leave a bit more of that al-anon literature around for husb!!

Today if he remains drunk and incapable we will be driving him to the 'drying out' clinic, (round tip of 200 miles.....again......sigh)...... what happens after that I can't project on...taking it one minute at a time today.

I'm ok......working on me.....building my courage.

Ness x

((((Ness))),

You know what to do.  Good luck on the trip.  Too bad there isn't a place closer by.  Boundaries work when you enforce them.  Hopefully hubby will remember that.  Love and blessings to you and your family.

Live strong,
Karilynn & Pipers Kitty smile

This sounds like a good time for some bookending.

When you are faced with a difficult task, call someone in program before you go and call that person again once it is over. I added an additional step of my own in this one and that is if at anytime during the process you feel scared, uneasy etc. hold your arm to your side and clinch your fist really tight. That is us holding your hand while you complete the task at hand.

Just remember that you cannot bring that fist up. That might create another difficult task to complete. smile.gif

The great thing about this program is that we NEVER have to do anything alone again.

Thanks all, your support means a lot.

Mobirdie...you said......  if at anytime during the process you feel scared, uneasy etc. hold your arm to your side and clinch your fist really tight. That is us holding your hand while you complete the task at hand. Just remember that you cannot bring that fist up. That might create another difficult task to complete.

Thank you .....I find that very powerful and a welome addition to my 'tool box'

Ason is still here, has sobered up enough to be able to have a 'sensible' conversation......boundaries placed before have been quietly discussed and as soon as accommodation can be found for him he will be moving out. If he becomes d&i before then it's back to plan A......

For me......this morning I called a woman in my group....today is my f2f day which I missed....so I know all 6 at my little group, as well as you here, are holding me up.

I made the most of this sunny day and planted 35 more laurel plants in my hedge to replace the ones that had died.....I did a huge load of ironing and baked 2 carrot cakes.......

Love Ness
