I am back living in the American Midwest and in the summer there are always these weekend "fests" which are completely soaked in alcohol. Having not lived with this for awhile, I had forgotten how gross it is. I went to one last weekend and it all came back to me- totally smashed people all leaning on each other, puke all over the place, garbage everywhere, people acting horribly, yelling, you name it.
so sad. And this is what people call a celebration and how they want to spend their precious weekend time not working...wow.
Everyone asks me if I am going to the one this weekend. I just smile and say no, I have other plans : ) J.
I was there too. Thought people were square if they didn't drink or wouldn't attend. As I get older I can see what is going on. How we divide ourselves by our values. Having attended a few roundups for AA/Alanon I have learned about good clean fun.
yep everything is a time to celebrate and get messed up. I don't go to anything anymore. If I do, I go to the fair and watch all the little kids and bring snacks to the pigs...haha of course!
