Thanks to all who replied to my post. happy that people bothered to reply. My husband is in rehab. Visited him each day this week and it was very nice and CALM!I was seeing some hope for a future, probably naively? Yesteray and today he was allowed home for a few hours and all we did was fight...over stupid things. Am so upset and angry and just remembered this website that I had stumbled upon over a week ago so checked if anyone had replied...thanks.
Hello Grace , sorry u had a rough few hrs with hubby , early sobriety is tough on everyone , he is full of guilt and shame and your full of expectations , quite a combination , be patient with each other , he is what I lovingly call Stark raving sober dosent know how to live without alcohol and it takes time . I hope u have found real meetings for yourself Grace Al-Anon will help u thru this , u can share your fears in a safe place and others will share thier experiences with you. U need support from people who truly understand how your feeling . Leave husb to AA and give yourself to our program . One day at a time it will get easier as u both work your programs . good luck Louise
What a beautify name...and condition. Not much more to add to abbyal's share. It is what was suggested to me years ago and what I responded to and now I have a life, sanity and serenity all at the same time...go figure. Take the suggestions and keep coming back.
