Update on Last Week's Meeting

Last week I had written about a woman who was disruptive during my meeting and made me feel uncomfortable.  Well after talking with God, I thought that perhaps she needed to be at that meeting and who am I to judge who should be there and who shouldn't.  With that, I decided to reach out to her this week and listen to what she has to say.

Unfortunately, she wasn't there tonight, but her sister was.  I didn't even realize that her sister is a "regular" at my Wednesday night meetings.  So she and I talked and I gave her some information that I was going to give to her sister if she was there (so she said she would give it to her).  She said that she felt so bad for the way her sister acted last week, but everyone seemed to be really cool about it and no one judged, so I think that helped her feel better about the whole situation.  I suggested that she and her sister would benefit from an ACOA meeting that I regularly attend on Saturdays, so I may end up seeing one or both of them there in a few days.

great post, I know what you mean about disruptive people at meetings. I have gone through similar situations and outcomes! Heck yes, we all need to be there in one room under one roof and for one hour we love each other unconditionally. Thats our program. Practice, not perfection. hugs, J.

This makes me think of my costemtology teacher... back when I was 17... I'll never forget him saying something to this effect... 'dont under estimate people just b/c for some reason u dont like them - it is likely u will learn something very specific from them one day' -- and I never forgot that.  I would get annoyed or whatever with people & try to ignore them or maybe not be so kind (my reactions & preconceived notions).  I am proud of you for accepting she likely really really needed to be there & forgave it/let it go & chose to reach out.

Good for you, nice growth.
