Yesterday I lost a dear Al-Anon friend , he was 55 yrs old he had been in program for 7 yrs , he was so grateful for his sons addiction as it led him to our program and changed his life . He was truly an enthusiatic , grateful member of Al-Anon . I sit and think of him today and am filled with gratitude that i found this program many yrs ago , the gift of being able to clear up the mess I had created by damaging my relationships while living in the insanity of this disease. and I remember our last conversation he had made his amends to all his family and friends and totally changed his life , he was grateful for his son for giving him the oportunity to support him in his recovery which changed both thier lives for the better. Today I am sad but know that this too shall pass . Louise
I am sorry for the loss of your wonderful friend. His recovery truly is a blessing. I am sure you will keep some wonderful memories close to heart & mind in this time grief. Prayers & love to you & yours.

i lost my best friend 5 years ago on the 12th...got lots of comfort from folks here, now its my turn to give it.....yea, it hurts to lose a loved one....and yes "this too (pain) shall pass"....take care
Also have to say that it is truly a "gift" for him to have taken care of all his business, amends, and everything prior to his passing... the program provided him that opportunity...

What a wonderful inspiration. I am still in an incredible mess. I am so grateful I have the option to try to clean it up. That was not there for me before.
Steady as she goes... There are many past members of the Al-Anon Family Groups who cause me to celebrate gratitude and thank my HP for allowing my path to cross theirs. I am better for it and of course grateful always.
Pipers and I are sending you all our love and blessings today. I am so sorry for your loss. You were both blessed by each other's friendship and love. May those memories be of comfort to you. My sympathies to the family as well. Loosing a parent is not easy, no matter what your age. Love and blessings to you and your family.
In sympathy, Karilynn & Pipers
