Yesterday I was coming home, my son was on his dirt bike, he passed me and turned around so he could get some cash. The the worst thing ever happened........He wrecked on his bike, I was so afraid my knees were actually knocking.....He hit the pavement so hard and rolled back....by the grace of God he is ok....I mean he is hurt but he is alive.......when he flew off of that bike I swear to you I thought that was it for him. His helmet saved his life, he actually took a big chunk out of the helmet...
Nothing and I mean nothing can prepare you for such a thing, I am still a nervous wreck today. I took him to the emergency room.... He has no skin on his right hand or right azz check. He is hurt
I am so very thankful and grateful that I do not have the words to express. He is alive...It has been said that God does not give you more than you can handle....
When my husband died I didn't believe that, now I do because I would not have survived not having my son......he may be very hurt but dear God he is here with me.
I told him dad was sitting on your shoulder buddy. He said, I know mom.......
.It has been said that God does not give you more than you can handle....
Andrea
Praise God he is alive!! I don't think God brings wrecks, and illnesses, and unhappy or scary stuff....I do believe that life is life....even evil entities don't cause *everything*...
It was just LIFE..Riding a bike..Any time one gets in any vehicle, stuff can happen
I am soo glad he is ok......I do believe that what ever is thrown at us, God does, if we turn it over, make it right for us....
OH Andrea! Your post made my gut turn over. I am soo glad he is ok.
I am so glad my son does not do the motorcyle thing anymore. I forbid both my kids to ever ever do the street bike crap.
My daughter had a Honda 750 delivered to my house for her to ride back up to her place hours away. NO WAY. She had never been on one before!
I told my son to go out and take a plug or something out of it. We did not care, no way was she riding that thing. We lost our AH And Adad to death too.
I know how you felt hon.
We sold it.
Helmets are not unbreakable. I m so glad his did as well as it did. They hit ground and blow up. My friend saw it and it still gives her nightmares.
Major hugs hon. keep telling yourself everything is ok when it runs thru your mind.
Sooo Glad he is ok... I too have a dirt bike boy mine is 11, and mine has had a couple close calls himself, he has been riding since he was old enough to sit on one...but he gets right back on everytime... His Bio. Dad is in heaven as well, and I say a prayer to him, everytime My sons Butt hits the seat, and ask that he keep him safe....
You handled it well... And I think it is wonderful that you remind him that his Dad is still with him... Good for you... Your a good mom :)
You poor thing, having to witness that spill. I probably would have barfed from fear. My son (19) wants a crotch rocket. I keep telling him "when I am dead, feel free!" Statistics are that bikes are 2x as likely to be in an accident.
I was behind a bike that hit the side of a turning Suburban about 20 yrs ago. I'll spare you the details but suffice to say I never forgot it.
On the other hand if I was desperate to lose some azz I'd make sure to skid on both cheeks equally :)
I'm glad he's OK. Christy

AMEN!!! Boys...they are something else. My step son was hit by a car on his 4 wheeler. One week later I came home from work to find him riding down the street on his scooter with fishing pole and tackle box in tow. He was bored since he couldn't ride the 4 wheeler and thought nothing wrong with riding a different motorized recreational vehicle down to the bayou to catch some fish. He put that poor foot cast through some stuff. That broken ankle never slowed him down. He's fully recovered now and has traded his recreational vehicles in for trucks that go boom (loud speakers). Now I'm a wreck because he is driving on HWYS with girls in the truck rather than cow fields with boys on the back of the 4 wheeler. Boys.... you just never know. They sure do keep you on your toes! Sincerely, Tonya
Oh my! That would have turned my already salt and pepper hair to all salt! I am so glad that he is okay. Thank goodness he was wearing a helmet. For the life of me I can't figure out why states don't madate helmets for all types of bikes, including bicycles. It scares me when I see kids of all ages riding their bikes and being reckless. Give him an extra hug for me. Much love and blessings to you and your family.
Live strong, Karilynn & Pipers Kitty
