I am new and would be interested in hearing from some people that the A in their family is their child that they still support financially. My daughter is in college and does still live at home during holidays and breaks from school. Thanks so much.

Hi notaboutme, glad you are here. My daughter is my current alcholic/addict. She is twenty and not living with me. I have given her money off and on during the past few years and she has recently gotten a job. I don't technically support her anymore, but there were times I felt like I was paying for her habit. I don't know how much of the money I gave her went to drugs and how much really went for what she said she was using it for. It's painful to watch, but I finally had to set up some boundaries and protect myself from being sucked into her disease. Welcome to MIP alanon, and hope to see you in the chat room. SenoraBob
