An amazing event....somewhat off-topic, but incredible

Many years ago when I was very young (in the early 60s) I became pregnant by a successful, bright, and handsome young man.  In those days it was illegal to end a pregnancy by abortion even if I had wanted to, and there was no thought of a marriage between the young man and me. So, one snowy CHristmas evening she was born.  I named her AnnElizabeth after my maternal grandmother who was the woman I admired most in the world.  I kissed AnnElizabeth goodby, and prayed that she would have a happy life with two parents who would give her every advantage.  Oh I thought of her often, but never obsessed over her or her whereabouts.  As time went on I had no idea whether she was alive, and I made no attempt to contact her, believing that would not be fair to her adoptive parents.  Still I loved her and hoped she had found happiness and a good life.

On the 31st of March, this year, I received an email containing one question: "Does the 25th of December mean anything to you besides CHristmas Day?"  My knees buckled and my breath quickened.   After a 28-year search, she had found me on Classmates.com of all places.  She had her birth certificate so she knew my name.  My dear child, AnnElizabeth, named Jillian Ann by her adoptive parents is alive.  She holds no resentment.  We instantly realized that we are carbon copies of one another...physically as well as mentally and spiritually.  We are forming a loving relationship; that of friend, mother, daughter all in one.

Her parents did give her every advantage.  Her early life was spent traveling the world.  She is bright, educated, self-assured, happy, witty.  Just a peach of a gal!

I have two lovely granddaughter ages 12 and 19.  I am getting to know them as well, along with my son-in-law Steven.    Jill's adoptive mother passed away four years ago, and though I could never replace her, I am looking forward to having my daughter and my grandchildren close to my heart for the rest of my life.  My two sons are thrilled with having a new "sis."  They have known about her for many years, but, like me, never expected that she would come into our lives.

Jill is coming to San Antonio to visit in a few days.  I cannot tell all of you how excited I am.

Miracles do happen dear MIP friends.  Believe me they do.

Diva

(((((Diva)))),

I'm so excited for you!  Now remember it's a grandma's perogative to spoil the grandchildren as much as she wants too!  Enjoy the visit.  Much love and blessings to you and your new family.  Love to you furry friends too.
