to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
I still find myself with the uncontrollable urge at times to contact EXABF, or to go to his Myspace page and snoop. Yes I said Snoop-lol....
I have been doing better at catching myself on occassion, but am looking for a quote that I can copy and paste on my PC's at home and work, so that when I look at that quote it will STOP ME IN MY TRACKS if I do not catch myself.
Since I was also going to post it on my work PC it has to be "proper" and I really don't want something that says EXACTLY what I am trying to keep myself from doing, as my work PC is in a spot where all other employees can see it.
Any suggestions would be awesome. Your friend in recovery shelly

How about HALT, it stands for Hungry Lonely Angry Tired. Its a check list I apply to myself when I find I'm faced with a behaviour dilema. For me its usually the lonely aspect that can lead me to wanting to iniate contact. So I'm keeping busy, working the steps and praying for strength. This time I have to make it, I've been so low recently, too low to post even Thanks for your share it reminds me I'm not alone
Looks like you and I are on the same path, lets keep putting one foot in front of the other.........
I open my hands and turn my palms upward and say, outloud "Love and Blessings" whenever ex pops into my head. I feel that I am physically letting go of hanging on....and sending him love and blessings. Because in a moment I may feel like I hate him, miss him, love him or want him to drop off the face of the earth. Sending him love and blessings thru the universe allows me to let go of whetever it is I"think" I need to tell him, show him, explain to him....etc.
When the hate comes, when the greif comes I turn it over to HP and wish all involved Love and Blessings.
If anyone asks about that one, you can simply say, now is not the time to ask - I am busy, or simply now is not the time to ask and leave it at that.
Now is NEVER the time to go snooping so it should stop you in your tracks immediately without giving anything away to other snoopers - even those at work.

I have a sign on my pc & it says, "listen with your eyes" it reminds me that the words may be attractive but what really is imortant is what people do & our actions matter (including mine).
