Freaked Out

Hello everyone!!

My husband was in rehab and I was soooo happy he decided to stay a second month. But he just called, he's out and he's gonna stay in treatment, in ambulatory.
I'm just freaked out, scared, terrified honestly. And, also, as a control freak I am, this out of control type of encounter just completely throws me off balance.

I'm just really not prepared for him relapsing. I know I have to take it one day at a time. Let go and let God.

Ok!!! You are POWERLESS over him and what he does!! The time is Meets/ steps/ sponsor work for you....

You are the only thing you can take care of and not even that w/o God's help....I would work steps 1,2,3 HUGE with a trusted recovery mate or sponsor..

if he slips?? He slips...All you can do is look out for and take care of YOU!!!!

Priscilla,

Don't "Freak Out", freak into recovery, lol....just a little saying I made up! Like everyone else said, keep the focus on you, take care of yourself and just remember we can't control, cure, or cause alcoholism.

I caught your share in the meeting room this morning and was very uplifted by it. Just stay in the program and "Work it, work it" cause it "Works if you work it!"

When in doubt review step one.

When freaked out review step one.

When feeling out of control re-read step one.

When you get it, feel free to move to step two.

Once one and two are within your reach step three is recommended.

What a perfect time for you  to delve into your program.

For me returning to step 1 isn't shameful but so cleansing, step 2 helps me give over what was never really mine in the first place and step 3 helps direct me to the proper place to lay my worries.

When our focus is back on ourselves we can move forward.

Relax, it's ok not to be in charge! The world won't fall off of it's axis.

Keep posting, clearly you are extremely bright to realize it's time for change in your life from what  you've tried doing in the past.
