Update & Doing Good

((((((Family)))),

Good morning to you all.  I just wanted to give you an update on the  robbery.  The neighbor was charged and arraigned with a class E felony for possession of stolen goods.  ( I will not get them back as they have all been melted down.)  The judge gave me a temporary order of protection that goes through November.  Technically she can't live in the same building as me (she lives 1 flight above me) but she told the judge that she will be moving at the end of the month.  Since she is being evicted as well,  the judge made it clear that if she is not out by the 31st she will be forcibly removed.  I'm pretty sure she's not going to cause trouble.  Now it goes to the DA.  I will turn it over to HP from here.  In a few weeks I will call them to find out the status of this.  For now I am stepping away from it.

Her 13 year old son got in my face the other day.  I don't blame him.  In his eyes I did this to his Mom.  I'm the reason they are being evicted.  I stayed calm and let him have his say.  All I said to him was "I'm sorry you are going through this but you need to talk to your Mom about this."  I feel bad for the kids.  Thier father is dead and now this with their mother.  What a waste. no

I'm doing okay.  I will feel better when they move.  That way I can get Piper back to her normal schedule.  I do not let her out when I am not home, per the detective's advise. She's been a little stir crazy.  Although last week she swalled a very long piece of grass and it got wrapped around her soft palate.  It had to be surgically removed!  She's fine.

So these have been trying times, but not so bad that I can't handle it.  My niece turned 13 last week (yikes) and the other one graduates from high school next month. Where'd my babies go?  They are turning into glorious young women. w00t.gif  I am so proud of them both.

Work has been chaotic.  Last night was positively awful.  I asked them NOT to schedule me alone, because I wanted to finish prepping the department for inventory tonight.  But they didn't do that.  It was crazy busy.  So the things that I needed to get done, didn't get done.  This is the first time in 10 years that my department hasn't been ready for inventory the night before.  Nothing I could do about it.

Tonight is inventory night.  I work from 8pn-6am.  I am off the follwing 2 days.  It always dinks with my sleep schedule.  Piper gets confused when I walk in the door at that hour.  confuse Where was Momma all night to give me my treats?!!  hungry.gif  Next week will be great.  I work straight through next Wednesday and then have the following 4 days off in a row!  Talk about a nice mini vacation.

All of this has taught me how to truly live life on life's terms.  I will not let all the negative things get me down.  Nor will I let it get to my nieces or my sister.  When they get upset about it, I tell them how it could have been much worse.  We have LOTS to be greatful for.  I can still laugh.  I can still stop and smell the roses.  I can still chase Pipers up a treee.  That's a serenity that no one can take away from me.  It's the gift I've been given and I've given myself.

It's turning out to be a glorious day.  I will be sleeping through most of it, but the cool morning, the birds chirping and Piper outside playing makes it perfect.  Thanks to this program I can appreciate all I have and all that I have been given. You have taught me many great lessons.  I am so blessed to have all of you in my life.  Now I am off to change my sheets, eat breakfast and then try and go back to bed.  Much love and blessings to you and your families.  Love to my Alanon pets.  Enjoy life, no matter what it brings.

Live strong,
Karilynn & Pipers Kitty relax.gif

What a good post.  Sounds like you have a lot going on right now; but it seems like you are looking at this the right way.  Congrats.

I am so sorry you cannot recover your stolen property.  I cannot understand someone who steals other people's stuff.  I mean, I worked for every stick of furniture, every TV, computer and every pair of earrings in this house.  If you want something like mine, get a job and get it the honest way!!!!  Again, I am so sorry, especially about your Mom's jewelry.

I have a diamond pendant necklace that was made from some of my Mom's jewelry.  I would die if I ever lost it.  I would freak, freak, freak if someone stole it.

I want to thank you for all your prayers you and Piper have been sending up for Bonnie Lou.  Everyone here and I mean everyone here has been so supportative to me and hubbie during this scarey time for us.  She seems some better; however I will call the vet for a follow up visit today.

Hang in there!!!  You are doing a great job

(((((((Kari))))))),

I am happy to see you are keeping yourself very busy.  Sounds like life is moving forward, it's funny how that just happens.

I am very glad that lady is moving, that is the last thing you need.  Sorry about your jewelery I wish you could get it back....I too know how this feels.

Try and not work so hard and keep smelling the flowers.

Love ya,
Andrea

I am so glad that you work your program around this.  My biggest source of guilt has been that I have not been able to provide optimal care for my pets. Somedays I am exhausted when I work (I work part time).

I know you have struggled tremendously with your job and with getting  a balance in your life.  I am so sorry you got this added burden.  How formidable that you could be kind to the son of the neighbor  I have no doubt your neighbor feels victimized.

I am also sorry you lost your family hierlooms.

Maresie.
