Sometimes... Mom don't know it all :)

Well as most of you know last week I took a back seat to my drama of Afathers belongings, now this week I must get back on my game and get something done...alot has happened that is "Out of my Control", so there for now I must get back in control and get it going in order to get to the finish line...

This weekend, I went to our camp for the night, alot of things happened that brought some reality into my world again, that sometimes I think we forget. I know I do. the Husband, our boy, and me took our kayaks out, and just wanted to do some fishing and enjoy some of the Beauty that the day brought, and it was a beautiful day for sure, cloud cover, but just the right breeze in the air, temps were great...The water was cold but we were in kayaks, "Or so we thought :)"

Funny how sometimes our children are smarter then us at times :) My husband was out front, then the boy, then me & fatboy, well husband took lead, and went into this little cove I told my son to follow...He told me he didn't want to because he "KNEW" there was a tree across and we couldn't get thru.. Well I "insisted" he follow because I didn't know if my H was just planning on fishin there or what...

And so it goes... Buy the time I get to the cove, all i see is my son splashing thru the water YELLING "Mom Go Back!! Go Back!!"... well me being mom, all I can say, is "Were the Hell is your Kayak, and you father"..."Because I always have to Know Everything, before I do anything"...lol...Well I have one of our dogs with me, my son looks like he saw the devil himself, and I knew I had to get it together... So he said Dad went to "Catch" his kayak, because when he got there and flipped, Dad flipped, makin sure he was OK...so now we have 40 degree water, and two kayaks floating 1/2 mile down river and my husband trying to swim after them with the shingles no less, in pain , and froze.. What a ride... I can do nothing other then telling the boy to run down the shoreline, and catch up to his dad and I will go back out of the cove and meet them on the other side...

Well we lost about $200. worth of fishing gear, a pole. & the husband fishing license :) .But Everyone survived without to much trauma...The husband was indeed froze and sour, but OK..The Boy was shell shocked more then anything I think, because he felt Dad would be mad at him for flipping, which of course he was not.. I did have to laugh tho when we were floating back, I told the boy to keep an eye open along the shores, and to see if anything surfaced, and low and behold I found the "Worms"... lol... All the things we lost, we got our worms back ;) Which ment when we did get back to camp, we still got to do some fishing, and ended on  me catchin (10) fish, and being super women over the men:)

The boy never said a word to me about it, but I knew he would not be able to keep the sarcasum gone long...lol...for that is one trait he gathered from me :) As we sit at camp, playing cards hours later, forgetting about the "Flip" he so calmly looks at me and says, almost as a whisper "Ya know mom, if we would have went around like "I" suggested, NO ONE would have flipped, because Dad was already thru..." Well I couldn't really argue with that, and gave him a "Well I will try to do better next time ;)" He smiled, for he knew he won that one!  ...lol...

I guess the HP was telling me to have some faith in the boy:) for sometimes he may just know more then me... Not an easy thing to Eat as a mother, but I guess sometimes I need to pay better attentionAnd have faith that I did raise him to have some sense about things, and respect his knowledge, even if he is only 11 yrs old...

And I guess I get to now go shopping for a new pole for the husband, and some tackle :) but that is not a problem for my baby is safe, my husband is safe and me & my puppy "fayboy" all made it back and I think we ALL learned alittle somthing about he river that day :) and how strong we are when we pull together...

We wont talk about the snake I dang near stepped on that thru me in to a panic and about landed me on his Momma, but it was all good... ;) I went back to camp, and this morning at 8am there was a beautiful Hawk that landed on my deck, and I got to see the Bald Eagle again before we left...The beauty that God offers is unbelievable, and the knowledge I gathered from that little trip was wonderful... Thankful my family is safe, Thankful HP saw me thru :) And Thankful for all of you :) For letting me share...

Hear is to a week of gettin'r done, and making it happen..One Day at A time :)

Friends in Recovery :)

like that story. My son knows more than me lots of times...... right now with the broken arm, we went to eat crawfish and there he was peeling away and he said, Mom, you don't have to do things for me.

Yeah... Kinda Hard to let that go isn't it smile Being a Mom, and then getting to a point were they don't "NEED" us so much smile I don't think I am ready for that step yet... But I know that I have to let him be who he is ment to be, and sometimes he has to learn to survive without mecry .... Still don't sit well, but I will keep pray'n on that onesmile

Thanks for reply'n...Love & Prayerspray.gif
