Gratitude...

Simply thank you all for your unconditional if not also inspiring and humbling love.  Of
course you are in my life by design and will of a Power Greater than Jerry F.  My HP
really lives and I can no longer outdistance HP as I once thought I  had.  Beyond my
imagination.  You all are real and really beyond my imagination (so of course you're
really real...was that an AHA!! moment...go figure.  Didn't even expect it!!)

I attended my home meeting this morning.  Another "Easter Feaster" with an untold
number of members in attendance.  It didn't rain this morning and during the "Feaster" and then resumed later in the day.  I didn't go to the meeting and made
the decision to hang out side of the circle helping with the cooking and sharing the
service with guys I normally sit inside with.  The scope of the crowd got me alittle
fearful that we might not have enough food certainly not enough portugese sausage
with the eggs.  I got so focused on the fear of not having enough that I forgot about
how the show is really run.  After the recovery countdown and the free big book to
the newest member (a mother with infant...picture that for a minute and let it soak
in) I looked at the line of people and said no way were gonna have enough for them
all to eat!!   Somebody remind me to stay out of God's way please!!  Not only did we
have enough we had leftovers and someone found more portugese sausage even.
It was a POTLUCK!!  How did I forget that one even as one of our regular members
asked, How long has the Easter Feaster been going on and I replied 14 years.  It
has always been a POTLUCK...since I first helped found the meeting in 1994.  I miss
the other guys that were there at the start but to smooth it out for me one of the
members in attendance was also at my early Al-Anon meetings in Central Valley
California.  Seeing her again was like finding the high school graduation ring you
lost 5 years after graduation.   Thank you HP again.

Yes you were all so right on.  I am human and I am blessed.  It's okay to be dumb
in a group of smarties.  biggrin  It's okay to be wrong and hold on to an honest smile smile.
It's more than okay to be a family member of MIP.

(((((((MIP)))))))  aww

(((((Jerry)))))

To quote....well...errr....You!!! smile

"Simply thank you all for your unconditional if not also inspiring and humbling love".

You are definitely one of the "smarties" in this group for me.  A "human" smartie, just like the rest of us.

I so appreciate that you are a member of MIP and that you share so freely both where you are when you post and what you have been given.

You most definitely inspire me to be honest when I am "dumb" and to be grateful that being "dumb" is okay around here.  Being "dumb" and admitting the mistakes, being honest with the feelings and letting our fellows hear us and love us is what makes us into a "smartie".  Knowing that we cannot ever maintain eternal "smartie-ness" and that that is perfectly right, is such a gift and a relief!

Thank you for being here and sharing.

Oh, and now I have a craving for portugese sausage!!!  Thanks alot!!! biggrin

Yours in Recovery,
David

((((Jerry))),

You are the salt of the earth my friend.  I am humbled and blessed by your insights, friendships and the love you have.  You never cease to amaze me.  If I had 1/3 of your insight, I'd be doing great.  Thanks for being part of my life here.  I'm glad you had a good time.  Much love and blessings to you and your family.  (Thanks for reminding me about the portugese sausage! YUM!)

Live strong,
Karilynn & Pipers Kitty hungry.gif

Jerry,

You used so many Al-Anon tools, you "Detached" from the pole. You asked yourself "How Important Is It" before messing with your wife's serenity. That was a good decision, I learned that was "The Next Right Thing To Do" years before I came to Al-Anon. Last, you can be "Thankful" the eggs were plastic with kisses inside. Otherwise had they been real eggs, you would have had to stop on the way home to buy a couple of boxes of "GAS-X" at $3.99 for 12 pills. You can't eat just one egg!!! Grrrrrrrr.

Egg HUGS,
RLC
