I have kicked my AH out again and he has found caretakers next door! It's crazy. But perhaps they will have some time to realise what a user he is. (he used to go over there to get away from me now he is living there.) All he wants to do is come back home so he can have a free ride and spend all his leisure time doing what he does best-drink. I had a holiday planned but have had to cancel it as if I leave the house he will come back and I will never budge him. It's my house and it's there's no way that I should have to leave. There is no way that he is coming back either.!! To him, I am the meanest nastiest person in the world. The only one who has ever rocked his world. No one else has lived with him either, so he can fool them all. A normal person would be concerned with our relationship but the alcoholic....he just wants what I've got. A home. Somewhere to drink when the day is done. I waited so long hoping something would happen, waiting for him to hit bottom and seek recovery but it never did. Now I am making things happen for me. The program and seeking serenity without and alcoholic in my home is my number one priority. Grateful member of alanon today. SB
Someone in one of my al-anon meetings said that an addict or alcoholic will always find a place to land. True of your husband and also for my daughter. I refuseed her shelter at my house and now I am the most evil or all evil.
Stand your ground; now if I can follow my own advise.

It is a good feeling when we free ourself of the ball and chain, isn't it? Once the oldest AD was out the door, I changed the locks, and a restraining order was put in place.
She too has had a long line of enablers in place. She's a very clever girl. She's never been homeless more than 24 hours.
Being a doormat no longer serves a purpose for me.
