I wrote a few days aga about my youngest son always calling me. Of course he always was good at calling me...but now there's no work, and the calls are really getting to me! He called a few days ago to get the phone # of #2 son--to see if he can help him with building houses etc...well # 2 son also has no work!! How as parents do we get thru this "difficult" time with the way the economy is. I do work my program and I am gratful that I can come here for help. I'm sure there are other parents out there that are going thru the same thing as me! I just can't let this get me down...do you know what I mean?
Hi Meagin These are difficult financial times for us all. I know you worry about your children but the program suggest that we are all in the care of a loving HP. I have many friends who are also unemployed and I know how hard it is to walk with them as they struggle.
I do empathize with them and then try to empower them with the fact that just living a day at a time, taking the next right action and staying in the now is the best solution.
I also offer to pray for them. I hope you are getting to meetings, and using the tools so tha t you can maintain your serenity.
Yes we are all going through some hard times, and any of us who have adult children are also seeing this happen. In my life, I have had to learn my limits and set up boundaries as to what I can and cannot do to help them. I have to say what I mean... and not say it mean. I can try to encourage as much as possible and always show love. Love simply does not mean we have all the answers though. I am trying to learn to stop and think and pray before giving an answer. Sometimes the only answer I can find is simply ... I don't know. Know that you are not alone, and we are here.
