Hi all newbie here. I am so glad I found this site, the daily stress I go to is sometimes unbearable. My story starts out as a child, i had a lying, very manipulative mother who never showed love, and an alcohlic father. I grew up not knowing who I was and where I was going. I tried so hard to please my parents and never could so I have quit trying to some extent. I married alcoholic husbands, divorced all three of them and am now living with my parents due to no money and a job that does not pay much at all. my days consist of yelling alot. Either my mom is starting drama or my dad is yelling. My brother is an alcoholic and is violent sometimes, and brings his garbage over here sometimes. The problem I have with my brother, is he has a 13 month old son and his girlfriend is not much better. I have bought that child everything he has, and I try to shelter him from his parents so that he does not suffer. The good news is that I am going to college to work on my bachelors in psychology to get me out of this place and to try to help my family. Well that is about it. Thank you for listening. I do have to say that my brother and his girlfriend do not mistreat my nephew.
Well in the town I live in they only have day meetings and I work days, no evening meetings. I would go out of town, but I don't have a car, and I know my parent's wouldn't take them they think it is brainwashing-go figure. Thank you for your reply, i really appreciate it.
Welcome to MIP! You've found a place with people who can offer you lots of Experience, Strength and Hope (ESH). There are daily meetings here online at 9:00 AM and 9 PM EST. Does the college have any F2F meetings on campus? Perhaps there's a resource there you can find to help.
When you can, spend some time reading through past posts on this site. I've found it very, very helpful since I joined. Keep coming back - you're worth it!
There are phone meetings, too. I haven't tried them but people in my f2f meetings swear by them. And now I can't find the number. Does anyone else know it? I think it's an 800 number.
